Randomness.......Body Movin' Banana Nut Bread and 3 laws

Today is a random post. Things that I want to share but don't all go together.

1. Body movin' - you have to get your body moving in order to lose weight. A great diet will help as well, but really, you can eat what you want, if you are burning enough calories. I have been movin' this body of mine. I am down another 4 pounds, (YIPPPEEE!!) and I know that moving your body gets it started. Whether it's exercising, or just going about your day, you can move more.

Those weight watchers step counters are pretty cool! I used one years ago just to see how much I needed to move. It's interesting to find out how much energy you're putting out. So......if you want to get rid of pounds, start moving!! You can do it.

(I can't believe I am doing this) Then again, that would be being prideful and I am trying to get over that and so here it is. SO you can see proof.

Here I am in Texas with my Philly friend Gigi. She posted this picture on facebook yesterday. Barf! But I had just stopped nursing and I am PLUMP! It does that too me. This is the end of October. Tired, loss of sleep and having fun with the girls!

Here I am in January with my husband at a wedding. This is even 2 months ago, so I need more recent pictures, but I'm never in front of the camera. I will though this weekend so you can see.

Not the best shots, I know but I think you can see a little bit of a difference in just 3 short months.
If not, tell me, and I'll stop posting pictures of myself.

Banana Nut bread recipe

This is what I made the other day to get rid of use our mushy bananas.

I know. Banana Nut Bread, big deal. You've seen it a thousand times. I just want to share my world famous recipe. It is!! I made this for almost every function whilest I was in Russia and they had never tasted anything like it. They were amazed! This is my mom's recipe and it's tried and true. Just ask the Russians.

Banana Nut Bread

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

3 ripe bananas (mashed)

2 cups flour

1 tea. baking soda

1 tea salt

1/4 cup nuts (chopped)

Cream together the first 3 ingredients. Then add the bananas to it.

Mix the Dry ingredients together (the rest of them, except the nuts)

Mix the wet and dry together and then add the nuts!

Presto! Pop it into the oven at 350 for 60 minutes. Yummmy goodness.

and lastly.......

a wise man once told me of 3 Jewish Laws. I try to live by these in my life.

(which I don’t really think are Jewish now that I think about it, but it was taught to me as such…..

1. Don’t do anything yourself you can get someone else to do for you (yeah, that doesn't work so much as a mom, I'm trying it though. My husband is better with this, we call it the Jedi mind trick.)
2. If you give others what they want in life, you will get what you want.
3. If something is free, take 2!

That's my thoughts for today. Have a good one!

Who is that HOT chick you are standing with?!?!? Just kidding...I'm actually put on weight since then. But like you said- gotta get moving, which I am! I've lost 5.5 pounds so far!

BTW, that must be some sort of mother's famous banana bread recipe, because that is the same one I use! And you're right- DELISH! Although, I can't remember the last time I had overripe bananas in this house full of monkeys.

Good job Gigi! Doesn't it feel good? I LOVE it! Once I start to move and lose, the endorphines kick in and it's great to workout!
Really? same recipe? You use shortening? Most don't. That's cool!
Thank you Dana! I'm trying. Only 30 more to go. (long term) short term about 15.
